"so, what happened here was, I did a evernode config command and stopped it right after tessucccess, and the xahau server halted at that point and the connection was busy for ALL evernode nodes!!! And the evernode nodes did not try the fallback server, they got that error, failed to retrieve latest version data."

Your xahau server is stuck and needs to be restarted :)
